Privacy policy

Last updated:

Nijihen is designed to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what is processed and why.

1. No accounts, no personal database

There are no user accounts. Our database stores only the published content (galleries, pages, tags and their translations). It contains no information about visitors.

2. Data stored in your browser

The age confirmation, your language choice, reader settings, hidden tags and local reading history are stored in your browser (localStorage). The site itself sets no cookies. These data never leave your device and you can clear them at any time in your browser or in the local preferences panel.

3. View counting

To rank popular galleries we count page views. To avoid counting the same visitor twice within an hour, a one-way keyed hash (HMAC) of your IP address is kept in memory for at most one hour. The IP address itself is not stored.

4. Server logs and Cloudflare

Our servers keep technical access logs (IP address, requested URL, time, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, and delete them after 30 days at the latest. The site is served through Cloudflare, a content delivery network, which processes requests on our behalf and may set technical cookies of its own for security.

5. Analytics and advertising

We do not sell data and do not use tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising, we will update this policy first and will not set cookies without your consent where consent is required (for example under the GDPR).

6. Emails you send us

Reports and messages you send by email are kept in our mailbox only as long as needed to handle them.

7. Your rights

Because we do not keep personal data linked to you, most access or deletion requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser data. For any privacy question write to [email protected].
